Holidays that move the price and the crowds: MSC Musica departs on Friday 11/20/2026, the Black Consciousness Day holiday; the Monday sailing, 11/23, costs R$ 2,234, and the 11/30 one, R$ 2,084. Seaview and Costa Diadema on 12/20 spend Christmas Day at sea (see Christmas on a cruise), and Virtuosa on 12/26 includes New Year’s Eve on board, which is why it costs double the 12/12 sailing; for the countdown, the right guide is New Year’s Eve at sea from Santos. At Carnival 2027 (02/08 and 02/09), Divina on 02/05 returns on Carnival Tuesday, and Seaview and Diadema on 02/07 depart on Carnival Sunday, with 02/08 and 02/09 on board; the Carnival cruise guide compares them all. At Easter, Virtuosa departs on Saturday 03/27/2027, the day after Good Friday, and Musica on 03/29 leaves the Monday after Easter Sunday.

To see only the Santos sailings during Carnival week, with prices and times, open the Carnival cruise from Santos. If you want Virtuosa via Salvador and Maceió, compare it with the cruise from Salvador, which spends Carnival on board.

Sources: MSC press release on Brasilturis (09/03/2026) and Catraca Livre (09/07/2026), checked on 10/16/2026. MSC Meraviglia, built in 2017 and carrying around 4,500 passengers, is the debut and takes Seaview’s place in Santos (Cruise Industry News, 08/31/2026); the details are in the MSC Meraviglia in Brazil guide.

The press releases don’t include a per-sailing price: the value for each date and cabin only shows up in a quote. Costa had not announced its 2027/2028 season in the sources checked on 10/16/2026. The full MSC picture is in the 2027/2028 cruise season guide, and Logitravel’s selection of domestic cruises rounds up sailings from several seasons: check the year of each one.

How much does a cruise from Santos cost?

A cruise from Santos starts at R$ 2,084 per person for the 3-night mini-cruise and from R$ 4,014 per person for the 7-night trip, always in a double cabin (Logitravel, 10/07/2026). On MSC, that price already includes full board and the service charge, of R$ 99 per night per adult in the MSC terms and conditions table valid since 07/02/2026, checked on 10/10/2026.

In Voyage Voyage’s 10/07/2026 survey, sailings from Santos ranged from R$ 2,084 to R$ 8,465 per person in an interior cabin: the floor is the 3-night mini-cruise and the ceiling is the sailings with Christmas or New Year’s Eve on board, like Costa Diadema on 12/27.

The breakdown below uses MSC Virtuosa on 12/12/2026 for a couple driving down from São Paulo, with only what has a published price (checked on 10/07/2026) and only the drive down; the toll on the way back isn’t included.

ItemIncluded?Cost for the couple (10/07/2026)

On Costa Diadema the math changes in one respect: the service charge amount in Brazil isn’t published, and Logitravel states that gratuities are already included in the MyCruise and All Inclusive fares, but not in the promotional ones (checked on 10/10/2026). Confirm what your fare includes when you book.

Are there all inclusive cruises from Santos?

Not on MSC’s standard fare: the price includes full board and the service charge, but drinks are paid separately. To have drinks included, there’s MSC’s Free Drinks promotion and the Premium Drinks Included fare, plus Costa’s all inclusive fares. MSC data from Brasilturis (09/01/2026) and Catraca Livre (09/07/2026).

Costa, MyCruise and All InclusiveGratuities already in the fare, according to Logitravel; promotional fares don’t include themConfirm what each fare includes when you book

If you pack drinks in your suitcase, they won’t make it on board: MSC bans alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks at embarkation, and anyone caught at the x-ray has to discard them or stays ashore (clause 4.6 of the MSC terms and conditions, checked on 10/16/2026). MSC also capped package alcohol at 15 units per person per day (Brasilturis, 12/18/2024); the rule doesn’t appear in the 2026/2027 press releases, so confirm when you book. To see only trips with drinks included, use Logitravel’s all inclusive selection; the most complete package is in the MSC Yacht Club guide.

What is each ship’s itinerary?

Sailing from Santos, there are three types of itinerary: the 3- or 4-night mini-cruise to Búzios, Camboriú, Angra or Ilha Grande; the 7-night Northeast Brazil route on MSC Virtuosa; and the 7-night Río de la Plata route, with Buenos Aires, Punta del Este or Montevideo.

Virtuosa is the only one on the list with Northeast Brazil and it stops for 10 hours in Búzios. Seaview has three days at sea in seven nights; Diadema swaps Punta del Este for Montevideo and Itajaí. To plan your port days, Voyage has guides to what to do in Búzios and Buenos Aires.

On the Musica mini-cruise you get 7 hours in Búzios; the rest is ship time. It’s good for testing whether you like cruising, not for getting to know the city.

Are there cruises from Santos to Argentina and Uruguay?

Yes, from two lines: MSC Seaview, 7 nights (from 12/13/2026, from R$ 5,024) and 8 nights (12/05/2026, from R$ 5,389), and Costa Diadema, 7 nights, departing 02/28/2027 from R$ 5,160 (Logitravel, 10/07/2026). The times for each port of call are in the itinerary table above. Both require an RG or passport, no visa, and MSC lists travel insurance as mandatory for Argentina (see documents). In 2027/2028, MSC Meraviglia takes over Seaview’s itinerary, with 6 to 8 nights. The step-by-step is in the Río de la Plata cruise guide; each ship has its own: MSC Seaview and Costa Diadema.

Are there cruises from Santos to Northeast Brazil?

Yes, with just one ship: MSC Virtuosa runs 7 nights from Santos to Salvador and Maceió, with a stop in Búzios, on Saturdays from 12/05/2026 to 03/27/2027. The 12/12/2026 sailing starts at R$ 4,014 per person (Logitravel, 10/07/2026); in January, the lowest was R$ 4,404, on the 01/30 sailing (Logitravel, 10/11/2026).

There are two stops in Northeast Brazil, Salvador (8 am to 5 pm) and Maceió (9 am to 5 pm), and three days at sea; the full schedule is in the MSC Virtuosa guide. For the stops, see Salvador on a cruise stop and Maceió on a cruise stop; if you’d rather embark there, there’s the cruise from Salvador. The sea days are covered in sea day on a cruise.

Are there cruises from Santos to Europe?

Only on a crossing, one-way only and only at the end of the season: MSC Divina leaves Santos on 03/14/2027 bound for Barcelona, in 17 days, from R$ 8,613 per person in an interior cabin (Logitravel, 10/12/2026). Costa Diadema also leaves Santos in early April 2027, bound for Kiel, Germany.

ShipDeparture from SantosLength and destinationPrice per person
MSC Divina03/14/202717 days to Barcelona, with Rio, Salvador, Maceió, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Casablanca, Málaga and AlicanteR$ 8,613 (Logitravel, 10/12/2026)
Costa Diadema04/04 or 04/05/2027, depending on the sourceAbout 25 to 26 nights to KielTo be confirmed

One agency’s listing shows Diadema on 04/04 and Costa’s calendar, reproduced by Cruise Industry News, on 04/05; confirm when you book. On a crossing, bring a passport (an RG isn’t enough); the return flight to Brazil isn’t included. The ports of call are in the Brazil–Europe crossing guide; if you’d rather embark in Europe, you’ll find options in Logitravel’s selection of European cruises, with the flight there on your own dime.

Which cabin should you choose?

For most couples, the interior cabin does the job: on the 12/12/2026 MSC Virtuosa sailing it costs R$ 4,014 per person, and the ocean view, with a window, starts at R$ 4,534. The balcony starts at R$ 5,414, always per person in a double cabin.

CabinBest forPrice per person (10/07/2026)
InteriorThose who spend the day out of the cabin and want the lowest priceR$ 4,014
Ocean view (window)Those who want natural light without paying for a balconyfrom R$ 4,534
BalconyThose who’ll spend three days at sea and want private open airfrom R$ 5,414

The difference between interior and balcony is R$ 1,400 per person on Virtuosa 12/12, or R$ 2,800 per couple (Logitravel, 10/07/2026). It pays off more on itineraries with several days at sea than on a 3-night mini-cruise.

Tip: In the 2026/2027 season, MSC includes the Easy drinks package for adults in balcony cabins and suites on selected dates, capped at 50 cabins per sailing. Before you pay for the balcony, check whether your date is part of the promotion. See MSC Virtuosa cabins.

How do you get to the Port of Santos and where do you park?

The ships leave from the Concais terminal, at Av. Cândido Gaffrée s/n, about 2.5 km southeast of downtown Santos. The passenger entrance and the official parking lot are at Gate 6. The Estação Porto VLT station is about 800 m from the terminal.

By car, coming from São Paulo: take the Imigrantes or the Anchieta, the two highways in the system run by Ecovias. The car toll costs R$ 40.60 (checked on 10/07/2026) at the Piratininga (Imigrantes) and Riacho Grande (Anchieta) plazas. Once in Santos, coming from downtown, follow Av. Perimetral, turn right onto Av. Guilherme Weinschenck and reach Av. Cândido Gaffrée, where Gate 6 is.

Parking: the terminal has official parking at Gate 6. In the 2025/2026 season, the MSC rate table charged R$ 90 per night, paid in advance; the 2026/2027 rate hasn’t been published yet, so confirm the price when you book.

Bus from São Paulo or Guarulhos: there are intercity bus lines to Santos, which use the same highways. Check the schedule and fare directly with the bus company and factor in the final leg, by taxi or rideshare, to Gate 6. If you arrive on foot, a roughly 300 m walkway with ramps leads to the terminal.

Timing: the e-ticket gives you an individual check-in time, and MSC closes check-in and boarding 2 hours before the ship departs. On Virtuosa, which leaves at 5 pm, the cutoff is 3 pm. If you get to Santos in the morning, you can squeeze in a short city stroll before dropping off your bags. To know what time to arrive and how to avoid hours of waiting, see the guide to boarding in Santos without a long line; the terminal, the voucher and the facilities are in the Port of Santos for cruises guide.

If you’re flying in and land in Guarulhos on embarkation day itself, you’ll have little margin; in that case, the night before in Santos is cheaper than missing the ship.

Where should you stay in Santos before embarkation?

Sleeping in Santos the night before is the safest way to board without depending on the mountain road. From any neighborhood, Gate 6 is a taxi or rideshare ride away.

Before you book, check the distance from the hotel to Av. Cândido Gaffrée on the map and whether it stores luggage after check-out.

Which documents do you need to board in Santos?

It depends on the itinerary. On cruises that stay in Brazil only (Virtuosa, Musica, Divina and the Seaview mini-cruise), MSC accepts an RG, passport or driver’s license; the digital driver’s license is only valid if shown through the official app, not as a screenshot. On itineraries with Argentina or Uruguay (Seaview 7 and 8 nights and Costa Diadema), an RG or passport is valid (the passport must have at least 6 months validity).

Driver’s license at embarkation — checked on 10/16/2026: for Brazilian adults, MSC and Costa accept a driver’s license in good condition on cruises with stops in Brazil only. With Argentina or Uruguay, a driver’s license isn’t valid: bring the original physical ID accepted or a valid passport, depending on the line.

Under 18: MSC’s list (clause 5.9.1) for domestic trips requires an RG, original birth certificate or passport with at least 6 months validity; Costa requires an RG issued less than 10 years ago or an original birth certificate only for children under 12. Driver’s licenses aren’t on these lists for minors. Bring proof of parentage and the authorizations required depending on who’s traveling with them and the itinerary. Details are in cruise documents.

MSC lists travel insurance with medical coverage as mandatory to enter Argentina. Minors under 18 traveling without both parents need written authorization with a notarized signature; for Mercosur, a birth certificate alone isn’t enough. Keep everything in your carry-on, never in checked luggage. The full rules are on MSC’s documents page.

Tip: On Brazil-only itineraries, treatment at the ship’s medical center is paid separately; on the Río de la Plata route, insurance is an Argentine requirement. Get a quote before you board and bring the policy printed out. Compare travel insurance for your cruise.

What are the rules for cancellation, pregnant travelers and babies?

On MSC, pregnant travelers can’t board if they’re 23 weeks and 6 days or more at any point during the cruise, and they need a doctor’s note. Babies under 2 can board, except on cruises of 11 nights or more, which clears every sailing from Santos, since they’re at most 8 nights.

Cancellation: if MSC cancels the trip, the general conditions guarantee the passenger an equivalent service or a full refund, barring force majeure. The penalty table for when you cancel isn’t in the published conditions; ask for your fare’s rule in writing before you pay. On MSC’s promotional Super Bingo fare, for example, the penalty is 50% if you cancel 31 days or more in advance and 100% in the final 30 days before departure.

On Costa Diadema, the 2026/2027 rules for pregnant travelers, babies and cancellation aren’t published in the same detail; if you’re traveling pregnant or with a baby, confirm them before you book. MSC details its own on its website, on the health and children’s pages.

Children: anyone under 18 can’t occupy a cabin without an adult, and the service charge isn’t applied to children under 2.
