Which Carnival cruises depart from Santos in 2027?
Four ships depart from Santos between 02/05 and 02/07/2027 and spend Carnival at sea: MSC Divina, MSC Virtuosa, MSC Seaview and Costa Diadema. The prices in the table are per person, in a double interior cabin, taxes included, quoted on 10/09/2026.
| Ship | Departure | Nights | Itinerary | From |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| MSC Divina | Fri, 02/05/2027 | 4 | Ilha Grande and Búzios | R$ 3,149 (Oct/2026) |

| Costa Diadema | Sun, 02/07/2027 | 7 | Buenos Aires, Montevideo and Itajaí | R$ 5,177 (Oct/2026) |
We found no other ship departing from Santos between 02/04 and 02/10 on Logitravel. Corazul operates the all-inclusive Buenavista from Santos in the 2026/2027 season, but the February dates weren’t published in the sources we checked on 10/09/2026; confirm with the company, because Logitravel doesn’t sell that ship.
How much does a Carnival cruise from Santos cost?
For a couple, Carnival in an interior cabin costs from R$ 6,298 (Divina, 4 nights) to R$ 11,808 (Seaview, 7 nights), taxes included (quoted on 10/09/2026). On MSC ships the service charge, which is the gratuity, is already in the price; on the Costa Diadema it isn’t.
| Ship | Couple, interior cabin | Per night, per person | Service charge |
|---|---|---|---|
| MSC Divina, 02/05 | R$ 6,298 (Oct/2026) | about R$ 787 (Oct/2026) | Included |
| MSC Virtuosa, 02/06 | R$ 10,208 (Oct/2026) | about R$ 729 (Oct/2026) | Included |
| MSC Seaview, 02/07 | R$ 11,808 (Oct/2026) | about R$ 843 (Oct/2026) | Included |
| Costa Diadema, 02/07 | R$ 10,354 (Oct/2026) | about R$ 740 (Oct/2026) | Not in the price; amount not published |
In the departure descriptions, Logitravel says that on MSC the “service charges are included and paid at the time of booking.” On the Diadema, it states that the amount “may be charged at the time of booking” or, if it doesn’t appear in the booking, “will be charged on board at the end of the cruise,” without saying how much. Add that charge to the Costa total before comparing it with MSC.
Carnival hits the wallet. The Virtuosa on 02/06 costs R$ 5,104 per person, versus R$ 4,014 on the 12/12/2026 departure (quoted on 10/07/2026): R$ 1,090 more, about 27%. The Seaview on 02/07 goes for R$ 5,904, versus R$ 5,024 on the 12/13/2026 departure: R$ 880 more, about 18%. The Diadema barely changes: R$ 5,177 on 02/07 versus R$ 5,160 on 02/28/2027.
Where is the ship on each day of Carnival?
On all four ships, Saturday, Monday and Carnival Tuesday fall between port and sea. The table cross-references each departure’s itinerary with the calendar: the Diadema spends Monday and Tuesday at sea, the Seaview only Tuesday, the Virtuosa only Monday, and the Divina arrives back in Santos on Tuesday morning.
| Day | MSC Divina | MSC Virtuosa | MSC Seaview | Costa Diadema |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Fri, 02/05 | Boarding in Santos (6 pm) | – | – | – |
| Sat, 02/06 | Ilha Grande (9 am to 7 pm) | Boarding in Santos (5 pm) | – | – |
| Sun, 02/07 | At sea | Búzios (9 am to 7 pm) | Boarding in Santos (6 pm) | Boarding in Santos (5 pm) |
| Mon, 02/08 (Carnival) | Búzios (7 am to 4 pm) | At sea | Balneário Camboriú (8 am to 5 pm) | At sea |
| Tue, 02/09 (Carnival) | Back to Santos (8 am) | Salvador (8 am to 5 pm) | At sea | At sea |
| Wed, 02/10 (Ash Wednesday) | – | Maceió (9 am to 5 pm) | Punta del Este (7 am to 4 pm) | Buenos Aires (8 am to 6 pm) |
The dates for each day follow the order of the itinerary days on Logitravel starting from the departure date, checked on 10/09/2026. The Diadema page doesn’t list a port call on days 2 and 3, and the 02/07 sailing arrives in Buenos Aires on 02/10, Montevideo on 02/11 and Itajaí on 02/13; the Seaview goes to Buenos Aires on 02/11 and returns to Santos on 02/14 at 8 am. The Virtuosa returns to Santos on 02/13 at 6 am.
If you want street Carnival in a port, choose the Virtuosa, which is in Salvador on Carnival Tuesday from 8 am to 5 pm. See the guides to Búzios and Buenos Aires to plan your port calls. The onboard party schedule changes by ship and by night; Logitravel doesn’t detail it, so confirm with MSC or Costa.

What’s included and what costs extra?
The price covers your cabin, meals and onboard activities. Drinks, internet, specialty restaurants, the spa, shore excursions and medical services cost extra on all four ships, according to the departure pages on Logitravel on 10/09/2026.
| Item | MSC (Divina, Virtuosa, Seaview) | Costa Diadema |
|---|---|---|
| Cabin and main meals | Included | Included (six meals a day) |
| Service charge (gratuity) | Included in the price | Not included; amount not published |
| Drinks | Extra (water, coffee and juice from the buffet machines are free) | Extra |
| Internet, spa, excursions and specialty restaurants | Extra | Extra |
| Medical services | Extra | Extra |
What nobody tells you: at Carnival, drinks are usually the biggest extra, and none of the four departures includes a package. MSC and Costa sell the package on board or at booking, but Logitravel doesn’t publish the price. Ask for the amount before you pay and compare it with paying per drink. For extras in general, the guide how much does a cruise cost breaks down the bill.
How do you get to the port of Santos during Carnival?
All four ships board at the Concais terminal, through Gate 6, and depart between 5 pm and 6 pm. Your check-in time is on your e-ticket; arrive with plenty of time, because boarding closes before the ship departs.
The guide to the port of Santos for cruises covers the route, parking and terminal rules. In short: terminal parking is paid per night and the 2026/2027 season rate should be confirmed at booking. If you’re flying in and prefer to drive to Santos, you can compare cars on Rentcars; if you leave your car at the terminal for 4 or 7 nights, add parking to your cruise bill.
Is it worth sleeping in Santos the night before boarding?
It’s worth it when the ship departs on Carnival Saturday or Sunday and you live far away: sleeping in Santos takes the mountain drive out of boarding day. For the Divina (Friday), the night before is Thursday, 02/04; for the Virtuosa (Saturday), Friday, 02/05; for the Seaview and Diadema (Sunday), Saturday, 02/06.

| Hotel | Booking score (09/30/2026) | Neighborhood | Book |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sheraton Santos Hotel | 9.2 (2,371 reviews) | East waterfront, near Shopping Praiamar | See on Booking › |
| Atlântico Golden Apart Hotel | 8.3 (2,528 reviews) | Gonzaga | See on Booking › |
| ibis Santos Valongo | 8.2 (1,905 reviews) | Valongo, Historic Center | See on Booking › |
| Novotel Santos Gonzaga | 8.0 (1,326 reviews) | Gonzaga, Av. Ana Costa | See on Booking › |
Choose your neighborhood based on your plan for the night before. Downtown and Valongo are about 2.5 km from the terminal and work for those who just want to sleep. Gonzaga has the beach and restaurants, good for enjoying Carnival Saturday in the city. Before booking, check the distance to Av. Cândido Gaffrée on the map and whether the hotel stores luggage after check-out, since boarding is in the late afternoon. More neighborhood options are in the guide to cruises departing from Santos.
What documents do you need to board in Santos?
On the Divina and Virtuosa, which stay in Brazil, an RG or CNH works. On the Seaview and Diadema, which go to Argentina and Uruguay, an RG or passport works; a CNH doesn’t. Minors under 18 traveling without one of their parents need written authorization with a notarized signature. Rules vary by company, so check the MSC or Costa website before boarding. Keep your documents in your carry-on, never in checked luggage, and check that all are valid before leaving home.
CNH for boarding — checked on 10/16/2026: for Brazilian adults, MSC and Costa accept a CNH in good condition on cruises with port calls only in Brazil. With Argentina or Uruguay, a CNH doesn’t work: bring an original physical ID that’s accepted or a valid passport, per the company.
Minors under 18: the MSC list (clause 5.9.1) for domestic travel requires an RG, original birth certificate or passport with at least 6 months’ validity; Costa requires an RG issued less than 10 years ago or an original birth certificate only for children under 12. A CNH isn’t on those lists for minors. Bring proof of parentage and the authorizations required depending on your companions and itinerary. Details are in documents for a cruise.
Tip: MSC requires travel insurance with medical coverage on cruises that go to Argentina, according to Portal PANROTAS (10/31/2025). On departures within Brazil only, treatment at the ship’s medical center costs extra. Get a quote for cruise travel insurance before you book your cabin.
Which ship should you choose for Carnival?
Choose by time and itinerary: the Divina for a short, cheap Carnival, the Virtuosa for a week in the Northeast without a passport, the Seaview for Buenos Aires and the Diadema for those who want Montevideo and Itajaí. Prices are per person, interior cabin, quoted on 10/09/2026.
| Profile | Best departure | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Short Carnival, 4 nights | MSC Divina, 02/05 | R$ 3,149 (Oct/2026) |
| A week in Brazil, no passport | MSC Virtuosa, 02/06 | R$ 5,104 (Oct/2026) |
| Buenos Aires and Punta del Este | MSC Seaview, 02/07 | R$ 5,904 (Oct/2026) |
| Buenos Aires and Montevideo, with the service charge extra | Costa Diadema, 02/07 | R$ 5,177 (Oct/2026) |
Who it’s worth it for: people who live in São Paulo and want Carnival without the drive back, groups splitting a cabin and anyone who prefers to pay for everything in reais. Who it’s not worth it for: those who want street samba, trio elétrico and blocos, because the party on board is a ship party, with the company’s schedule and times. Anyone prone to seasickness should avoid the stretches with two straight days at sea, like the Diadema’s (Carnival Monday and Tuesday) and the Virtuosa’s on the way back (02/12 and 02/13).
Another calculation that matters is duration. The 4-night Divina costs R$ 3,149 per person (quoted on 10/09/2026), but it only covers Carnival until Tuesday morning and has short port calls: Ilha Grande from 9 am to 7 pm and Búzios from 7 am to 4 pm. If you want to get off in a big city during the holiday, you’re better off on the Virtuosa, which spends 9 hours in Salvador and 8 in Maceió, or the Seaview, with 9 hours in Punta del Este and 8 in Buenos Aires.
Torn between the companies? The guide MSC or Costa compares the two, and the first cruise guide walks you through boarding step by step. Also see the 2026/2027 cruise season for departures from other ports.
Conclusion
The best value for Carnival from Santos is the MSC Divina on 02/05, from R$ 3,149 per person (quoted on 10/09/2026), and the cheapest full week is the MSC Virtuosa on 02/06, at R$ 5,104. Check the date on Logitravel before you pay: the price changes as cabins sell.
