Which cruises depart from Salvador in 2026/2027?

The MSC Virtuosa has seven-night departures with embarkation and disembarkation in Salvador in the 2026/2027 season. To choose a trip, check the final port first: full circuits, segments to Santos and crossings to Europe serve different needs.

On the regular itinerary, the Virtuosa leaves Salvador, calls at Maceió, has two days at sea, stops in Santos and Búzios, sails again and returns to Bahia on the eighth day. The three departures compared below follow this circuit; they don’t require buying return transport from another port.

Anyone searching for “round trip to Salvador” should look for Salvador in the embarkation and disembarkation fields, not just among the stopovers. A ship that visits the city may have started in Santos and not sell cabins for embarkation in Bahia. To compare routes in the region, see the Northeast cruise guide.

The calendar also distinguishes holiday and vacation trips. The regular 02/02/2027 departure arrives in Salvador on 09/02, Carnival Tuesday; it’s not a stay to enjoy the days leading up to the festivities in the city. For another date, check the specific itinerary instead of carrying over the times from one departure to the next.

How much does a cruise from Salvador cost?

The Virtuosa on 09/03/2027 starts at R$ 5,114 per person in an IB interior cabin; for a couple, that’s R$ 10,228 in advertised cruise fare, with taxes and service included (Logitravel, Oct/2026). Flights to Salvador, hotel, transport to the port and optional extras must be added on top.

In Voyage Voyage’s October 2026 survey, three departures of the same ship and circuit differed by R$ 840 per person in an IB interior cabin. The date changes the bill even without changing the duration or the sequence of stops.

Is full board the same as all-inclusive?

No. The Virtuosa page includes main meals, cabin, scheduled activities and hotel service; drinks, internet and shore excursions appear among the extras. “All inclusive” should only be treated as such when the offer identifies the package and its limits.

ItemHow it enters the billWhat to check
Cabin, main meals and serviceIncluded in the offer consultedItemized taxes in the total.
Drinks and specialty restaurantsExtras unless a specific packageDrinks list, limits and participants.
Internet and shore excursionsOptional purchaseNumber of devices and tour policy.

Choose optional extras based on expected use. For someone who lives in Bahia and arrives by car, access costs can be very different from those of a couple who need to fly, stay overnight in the city and hire a transfer. Without these items, two cabin prices don’t represent the full cost of the two trips.

Does the Buenavista allow embarkation in Salvador?

The Buenavista does not appear in the current program as a confirmed embarkation option in Salvador. On the Corazul Northeast itinerary, the ports offered to start the trip are Santos and Rio de Janeiro; Salvador gets an overnight stopover.

The page announces departures from Santos on 04, 11, 18 and 25/01/2027, with an alternative in Rio one day later. Arriving in Salvador during the trip doesn’t authorize starting the cruise there. Anyone living in Bahia should add the journey to the embarkation port if considering this ship.

The itinerary announces the Corazul Plus drinks package. That inclusion belongs to the Corazul product, not the Virtuosa. For any exceptional embarkation proposal in Salvador, ask for written confirmation of date, final port and services before paying.

What is the MSC Divina crossing from Salvador to Europe like?

The MSC Divina crossing departs Salvador on 17/03/2027 and ends in Civitavecchia, the port of Rome, after 16 nights. It’s a one-way trip: the return to Brazil must be planned in the air ticket or in a package that expressly includes it.

The itinerary calls at Maceió, Tenerife, Casablanca, Málaga, Alicante, Barcelona and Naples. There are six consecutive days at sea after Maceió, plus other sea days. This sequence weighs on the choice of cabin, internet and onboard routine.

In the Logitravel table opened on 16/10/2026, only the exclusive Yacht Club YC1 category showed availability, at R$ 32,503 per person in a double (Oct/2026). The interior, ocean view, balcony and suite categories appeared unavailable in the main table. That’s why the former R$ 8,833 interior fare is not presented as an available offer.

MSC distinguishes the cruise portion from the complete Grand Voyages packages. Don’t assume that buying the cabin automatically adds flights, hotel and transfers. Compare what’s written in the offer; the guide to the Brazil–Europe cruise crossing helps assess timing and logistics.

Which cabin should you choose on the MSC Virtuosa?

The interior cabin is the lowest-cost option on the three Virtuosa departures compared; a balcony may make more difference on sea days. On the regular circuit, there are three days at sea, when time on the ship tends to be longer.

Source: categories from the same departure on Logitravel, checked on 16/10/2026. The difference between interior and balcony is R$ 1,360 per person, or R$ 2,720 for a couple. Compare that expense with how important it is to use the cabin between activities and stops.

Read the full category and the deck plan. The Bella experience may leave the cabin number up to the cruise line; a balcony photo doesn’t show the view of the unit that will be assigned. A need for an accessible cabin requires specific confirmation.

How do you get to the Salvador cruise terminal?

Embarkation takes place at the Salvador Maritime Terminal, operated by Contermas, in Comércio, Cidade Baixa. Codeba identifies Contermas at Avenida da França, 393; check the entrance indicated on your ticket for your ship.

According to Contermas guidance, luggage is checked on the ground floor and check-in counters are on the first floor. Follow the cruise line’s schedule: arriving many hours early doesn’t speed up the ship’s clearance.

If coming from the airport, book transport considering luggage, number of passengers and a traffic buffer. Arriving by plane the day before avoids depending on landing, baggage delivery and the journey to the port in the same window as embarkation. If driving, confirm parking and pickup directly with the service you choose; there is no confirmed terminal parking rate in this guide.

How can you enjoy Salvador before embarkation?

Arriving in Salvador the day before lets you separate sightseeing from embarkation. Choose accommodation based on the journey to the terminal and the services you’ll use, such as luggage storage, rather than booking only by apparent distance on the map.

Comércio and the Historic Center suit a plan to explore the central area; Barra makes sense for those who want to add beach and restaurants. In any case, check the actual route to the terminal entrance, especially with luggage or reduced mobility.

Pelourinho: a outing for your free day before the cruise, returning to the hotel without competing with check-in. | Photo: Leonardo Dourado / Pexels / Pexels

A visit to Pelourinho can fill the day before. On ship day, only schedule sightseeing if there’s a buffer between finishing, collecting your luggage and reporting to the port. For those already on a ship and only disembarking for a few hours, the planning changes: see Salvador on a cruise stopover.

Access to the terminal follows Contermas ID control. Have your ticket or voucher and documents at hand. Companions who aren’t traveling shouldn’t count on free entry to the facility.

Which documents and restrictions apply to embarkation?

Brazilian adults on itineraries with stops only in Brazil can use a driver’s license accepted by MSC or Costa, in addition to the other documents required by each cruise line. The Divina crossing to Europe requires a passport and verification of the rules of every country on the route.

MSC publishes its document and visa conditions. For domestic trips, the digital driver’s license must be presented on the official app; a photo or screenshot isn’t valid. For Costa, check the itinerary documentation and bring an accepted physical document if there’s any doubt about digital presentation.

Minors have their own list, proof of parentage and authorizations depending on age, companions and itinerary; don’t apply the adults’ list to a child. If Argentina or Uruguay is included, a driver’s license isn’t valid as a travel document. For the crossing, check passport validity and any visas before booking.

Tip: onboard medical care is paid. When comparing insurance, check specific cruise coverage, assistance and evacuation, plus the cancellation causes covered by the policy.

What should you watch out for with children, pregnancy and mobility?

Children, pregnant passengers and passengers needing assistance require checking before payment, because the rule may depend on the ship and duration. MSC details health and accessibility; for another operator, confirm the corresponding policy directly.

On MSC, a passenger cannot reach 24 weeks of pregnancy at any point during the trip and must meet medical requirements. Report the child’s age on the departure date, not the purchase date. For the 16-night crossing, check the specific duration conditions.

Request an accessible cabin and assistance in advance. Access to the ship and access at stops are different checks; distances, ramps and possible tender boats can change the experience ashore. Describe the equipment and help you need before choosing the itinerary.

How do you check cancellation and the final price?

The final price and cancellation penalty depend on the fare and the purchase channel. Before paying, ask in writing for the included services, balance deadline, change rules and non-refundable items.

MSC’s terms for direct purchases help you understand categories and changes, but shouldn’t be applied automatically to a booking through Logitravel. The agency’s offer must state the conditions of that purchase.

One person dropping out may recalculate the cabin’s occupancy. Also check what happens if the ship changes a stop and the policy on independent tours. Cancellation insurance covers the contracted causes; it doesn’t mean you can cancel for any reason.

Who is departing from Salvador worth it for?

Departing from Salvador is worth it for anyone who wants to start the trip in Bahia and, on the Virtuosa circuit, return to the same port. For those who need to fly, the choice only becomes clear after adding access, hotel and transport.

Prefer the seven nights with return if you want to simplify the trip back. Choose a crossing to Europe if you have time for the sea days and a budget to continue on land or fly back. The Buenavista only suits the plan if you accept starting the trip at one of the ports it offers.

Before booking, check four fields: start date, embarkation port, final port and available category. Then add the optional extras you’ll use. This sequence prevents buying a one-way trip while imagining the cabin includes the return to Salvador.
