If you’re wondering where to travel in November 2026, pick João Pessoa or Maceió if beaches are the priority; Curitiba for parks and an urban itinerary with covered backup options; and Foz do Iguaçu for nature. Historical weather is useful for comparing cities, not for forecasting the weather on your trip. To measure lodging costs, we researched three nights from 11/9 to 11/12, outside the month’s two long holiday weekends.

Quick pick
Among the four destinations, the first choice is the type of trip: the coast for beaches, Curitiba for parks and museums, or Foz for the Falls. Distance depends on where you’re coming from, so compare the flight or the drive before deciding on a hotel.
| Departing from | Destination | Approx. distance | Hotels |
|---|---|---|---|
| Your city (compare access) | João Pessoa | Varies by origin; check the route | See hotels › |
| Your city (compare access) | Maceió | Varies by origin; check the route | See hotels › |

João Pessoa and Maceió satisfy the same craving for the coast, but they’re distinct bases. Curitiba and Foz are also alternatives, not mandatory stops on a circuit. For three nights, combining distant cities increases your dependence on schedules and cuts into time available for sightseeing. The most useful criterion is choosing the base with viable access from home and activities that stay enjoyable even if the weather turns.

Which dates should you choose in November 2026?
November 2026 has two national three-day holiday weekends: 10/31 to 11/2 and 11/20 to 11/22. November 15 falls on a Sunday, according to the official Chamber calendar. The quote in this guide uses 11/9 to 11/12, three nights between Monday and Thursday.
We chose 11/9 to 11/12 to compare stays of the same length, outside the holiday weekends. The values are only those observed in the search, with no comparison to other dates.
If you can only travel on the holiday
Use the dedicated picks for the All Souls’ Day holiday and the November 20 holiday. The lodging links in this monthly guide open 11/9 to 11/12; change the dates before comparing if your days off fall elsewhere. A three-night trip also takes up part of four calendar days, while the Friday-to-Sunday long weekend usually fits two nights.
If you depend on approval from work or school, sort out your available days first. Buying a rate before checking those conditions can lead to a costly change. Also read the check-in time: arriving early doesn’t guarantee the room is ready. On the last morning, keeping the plan light prevents sightseeing from turning into a race to the airport.
João Pessoa: beach with a laid-back pace
João Pessoa suits anyone who wants three nights alternating beach time and urban outings while keeping some free time. In the Climatempo climatology, November shows 32 mm of rain and average lows and highs of 25 °C and 28 °C. These are historical values, not the forecast for November 2026.

November is a relatively dry month in João Pessoa. Even so, keep your outings flexible: an average doesn’t tell you which day it will rain. The beach calls for sun protection, water and breaks in the shade; the heat can feel stronger than a temperature average suggests. With children or older adults, an itinerary that starts early and returns to rest tends to be more comfortable.
Where to stay and how to pace yourself
Before booking, look at the map to see which stretch of the waterfront the hotel is on and the distances to the activities you want to do. Being in the same city doesn’t mean being close to everything. In our search, the Oceana Atlântico Hotel & SPA offered a 26 m² superior room with breakfast, but that’s an example of a specific category; the price doesn’t sum up the cost of João Pessoa.
Set aside one day for the beach right at your base, another to explore a different stretch or combine coast and history, and use the last stretch to repeat whatever you enjoyed most. A compact itinerary leaves room to rest or change the order because of the weather. To choose points of interest in more detail, see what’s worth your time in João Pessoa between beaches and history.
Maceió: coastline and tours that depend on the tide
Maceió is an alternative for anyone who wants an urban base and to spend part of the trip at nearby beaches. INMET reports a climatological normal of 45.1 mm of rain in November for the 1991–2020 period. That number is historical and doesn’t forecast 2026 rainfall. The data for João Pessoa, Curitiba and Foz come from Climatempo; the data for Maceió comes from INMET.

To make the most of three nights, choose one longer outing and keep the other periods close to your lodging. Stacking coastal tours on consecutive days can wear out anyone who pictured a restful trip. Weigh boarding time, meeting point, transport and what’s included. A tour that looks short on the map can take up much of the day once you add travel, stops and the return.
Natural pools require suitable tide and operating conditions, plus favorable weather. Don’t book an outing just because the water looks beautiful in the photos. Check the time the operator gives for your date and keep a land-based backup. The guide to Maceió’s beaches, including Gunga and Praia do Francês helps you sort out what fits a short visit.
The offer above is for checking out an organized tour departing from Maceió. Read the activity details, especially pickup, duration and any extra charges. The tour cost isn’t included in the hotel table. If you book an activity, leave the other day without a rigid schedule so you can absorb a time change or simply enjoy the beach at your base.
The Ritz Suites Lifestyle in our search showed an economy double room with a note that children aren’t allowed in that category. That has to be respected in the comparison: a family should look for other accommodations or a category with the correct occupancy. For families, redo the search with the actual number of guests.
Curitiba: parks with a rainy-day backup
Curitiba is a choice for combining parks, walks and urban outings over three nights, accepting that you may need to reorder your itinerary. Climatempo shows November averages of 15 °C to 23 °C and 131 mm of rain. Pack a light layer and rain protection, without treating those averages as guaranteed temperatures.

The Jardim Botânico can be a priority for a stretch of steady weather, while visits to indoor spaces help keep the day going when it rains. Check the opening hours of your chosen spots close to the trip: museums and cultural venues may have closing days. Since the trip starts on a Monday, check beforehand whether the museums you want to visit are open that day.
💡 In Curitiba, set aside an indoor activity so you can swap the order of the parks if it rains. See hotels in Curitiba for 11/9 to 11/12.
How to choose your urban base
Try to decide on location based on what you plan to visit and the transport you’ll use. A central hotel can make part of the itinerary easier, but it doesn’t eliminate travel to every park. Add up rideshare, bus or car trips before comparing with a more distant accommodation. To see a sequence of visits by area, open the guide to what to do in Curitiba.
The example we checked was a Deluxe room with two twin beds at Hotel Roochelle Convention By Nobile, with breakfast. That setup can suit friends or family, but anyone wanting a double bed should search for the right category. The choice isn’t just about the total: checking beds, accessibility, parking and breakfast hours prevents booking a rate that doesn’t work for your group.
Foz do Iguaçu: nature without a promise of clear skies
Foz do Iguaçu suits anyone who wants to prioritize the Falls over the beach and can spread the outings over three nights. The Climatempo climatology shows November with 20 °C to 29 °C and 161 mm of rain. Choose the destination for the nature experience, keeping room for changes in weather conditions.

A rainy morning shouldn’t automatically be confused with the park closing, but storms and alerts mean following the operator’s guidance. To decide on times and tickets, check the official information for the tour you’re doing. The water volume at the Falls depends on the river basin, not just rain in Foz: the monthly average doesn’t indicate how full the falls will be.
For a first short visit, choose one main attraction per day. The guide to the Iguaçu Falls from the Brazilian side shows how to organize tickets and timing. The itinerary can include the Brazilian side of the Falls and a second outing of interest to your group. If you want to cross a border, documentation and travel times go into the planning; don’t leave that to sort out after buying an activity.
In the lodging example, the Del Rey Quality Hotel showed a double room with breakfast, with taxes and fees highlighted separately in the result. The table total adds those values. If you’re arriving by plane, also compare the route between airport, hotel and attractions. A cheaper accommodation may stop being an advantage if it requires repeated transport that weighs on your budget or your available days.
How much does a three-night stay cost?
The four examples checked on Booking cost between R$ 823 and R$ 4,130 for the full three nights, for two adults and one room from 11/9 to 11/12/2026, quoted on 10/1/2026. Note: the João Pessoa figure (R$ 4,130) is for a hotel with a spa, in a high category. It doesn’t mean the city is more expensive than the others; use the table as an example of each room, not as an average.

In the 10/1/2026 search for 11/9 to 11/12/2026, João Pessoa showed R$ 3,755 plus R$ 375 in taxes and fees; in Foz, R$ 1,297 plus R$ 141. The totals used here are R$ 4,130 and R$ 1,438, respectively. Maceió and Curitiba already showed taxes and fees included in the recorded values. That difference in how prices are displayed is one reason to compare the final total, not the first number that appears.
Divided by three nights, the examples come out to roughly R$ 274 to R$ 1,377 per night (11/9 to 11/12/2026). These aren’t market averages. To repeat the comparison for your trip, keep occupancy, dates and meal plan the same. Then review the cancellation deadline, payment method and category before completing the booking.
How do you compare the full cost of the trip?
The full budget adds up lodging, transport to the destination, local travel, food and tours. Here the part we observed was the hotel for three nights; flights and car rentals weren’t quoted. Compare those components based on your origin and your group before choosing a city just from a room example.
Search flights on Booking: enter your departure city and travel dates. The link opens the search; airfare wasn’t quoted for this guide.
A flight with a bad schedule can cut into your first or last day, even when the ticket costs less. Consider baggage, connection needs, travel to the airport and how to get to the hotel. For three nights, it’s worth writing down your departure time from home, arrival at your base and return: that shows how much free time is left, without relying only on the stated flight duration.
Compare car rentals on Booking: check pickup, return, deposit and protection before comparing just the daily rate.
If you’re driving, include fuel, tolls, parking and road time. If you’re renting, check the total for the period and the pickup and return conditions. A car can make distant beaches or parks easier, but it can also sit idle if you prefer tours with transport. The decision should follow your itinerary, rather than turning the rental into an automatic expense.
How do you spread three nights without changing bases?
Three nights usually allow for an easy arrival day, two main days and a departure without a distant activity. In João Pessoa and Maceió, combine the beach at your base with one chosen outing; in Curitiba, group parks and urban visits; in Foz, set aside one day for each priority. Adjust the plan to the actual transport schedules.
In Maceió, choose between the Ipioca tour (above) and the outing to Praia do Francês: do only one per day. Booking two long activities back to back can work against the goal of resting. With a small child, include meal and nap routines; with someone who has limited mobility, confirm boarding and access conditions.
On the first afternoon, get to know the hotel area, sort out meals and confirm the next day’s departure. Use the two middle days for the activities that motivated your choice of city, leaving one of them more flexible. On the morning of departure, pick something nearby or enjoy the accommodation. An itinerary like this also leaves room to revisit a beach, return to a park or replace an activity that no longer works.
Before booking, check five things: available dates, access from your origin, lodging location, total cost and a rainy-day backup plan. If your time off is only on holidays, see the long holiday weekend calendar and the guide to the November 20 holiday. If beaches are the priority, start by comparing João Pessoa and Maceió; if it’s an urban trip with parks, look at Curitiba; if it’s the Falls, choose Foz. The best base for this trip will be the one that supports your priority within your available time and money.
