Carnival with Kids 2027: Street Parties, Neighborhoods and Kids’ Clubs

🇧🇷 POR | 🇫🇷 FR | 🇺🇸 EN | 🇪🇸 ES

Carnival with kids in 2027 works best with a short daytime bloco and a hotel away from the parade route, or with age-appropriate kids’ programming. The holiday runs February 6–9, with Ash Wednesday on February 10. For 6-year-olds, Itamambuca has confirmed supervised activities; Águas de Palmas includes meals, but you need to check the kids’ club age range.

Bloco or resort: which works for your family?

Choose the street when your child already enjoys music and movement and the family can wrap up the outing without depending on a big group. Choose a hotel with kids’ programming when meals, naps and activities at the same address matter more than joining the city’s festivities. Neither choice requires filling all five days with partying.

If your priority is…Best pathWhat to check
Small child and sleep routineOne short outing and lodging away from the paradeBathrooms, shade and a clear path back to the hotel
Siblings of different agesResort with separate age groupsMinimum age, supervision and group schedules
Experiencing local cultureKids’ hub or a bloco with a family-friendly profile2027 schedule and room to leave before it ends
Escaping the crowdsBeach, countryside or farm hotelWhether the hotel will also host parties, music and nighttime noise

If the idea is to avoid the festivities entirely, compare resorts and farm hotels for Carnival. That comparison covers meal plans, packages and prices; here, the decisive difference is the age accepted by the kids’ club and the routine outside the room.

Which kids’ blocos can you follow in each city?

For planning 2027, Riotur expects Rio’s street festivities to begin on January 16. In São Paulo, the municipal rule sets pre-Carnival on January 30–31, Carnival on February 6–9 and post-Carnival on February 13–14; the bloco list is expected to be published by the second half of November 2026. This still doesn’t confirm a specific kids’ parade: wait for the date, route and time of the bloco before bringing the kids.

Use the options below as a reference for choosing the city, not as a confirmed 2027 schedule. Dates, times, routes and infrastructure need to appear in the new edition’s announcement before you organize travel with your child. “Kids'” describes the audience; it’s no guarantee of low volume or no crowds.

For full city planning, open Rio, São Paulo, BH, Recife or Olinda. Avoid crossing the city to try to catch two blocos on the same day: a route that looks quick on the map may be closed.

Where to stay nearby but with a chance of an early night?

Look for a side street, away from the route and the dispersal area, with easy access to your chosen program. The neighborhood name alone doesn’t guarantee quiet: blocos change routes and hotels have rooms facing different sides. Before booking, confirm the parade address, the room’s position and the hotel’s music schedule.

DestinationNeighborhoods to start your searchAdvantage and caution
RioBotafogo or Flamengo; Laranjeiras for GigantesCloser to South Zone programs; avoid the parade street
São PauloParaíso and Vila Mariana; Pinheiros for those combining sightseeingGood service network; confirm bloco routes and ask for an interior room
BHFuncionários and Santo Antônio, off the routesRestaurants and access to the central area; no street is quiet by definition
RecifePina and Boa ViagemMore hotel options; getting back from Aurora or Olinda requires transport
OlindaBairro Novo and Casa Caiada, off the main thoroughfaresLess close to the Historic Center core; add transport to the bill
🛏️ Stay close: Paraíso and Vila Mariana: compare streets off the route in São Paulo🚇 Getting back: Head back before your child gets exhausted; agree on a clear street for pickup, without depending on the car reaching the bloco.💡 Tip: Ask for a room away from the stage, elevator and party area. Confirm crib, extra bed and windows; “family hotel” doesn’t sort out these details on its own.

What’s the minimum age for hotel kids’ clubs?

The supervision age varies from hotel to hotel and must match your child’s age on the travel dates. In Voyage Voyage’s October 2026 survey, Ody and Itamambuca had different limits, at 5 and 6 years old. Recanto Alvorada separated activities for ages 0–3 and 4–12; activities for babies don’t mean staying without a guardian.

HotelWhat the kids’ club page statesBefore booking
Recanto Alvorada, BrotasRecantinho with activities for 0–3; programming for 4–12Confirm guardian presence, shifts and sibling groups
Ody Park, IguaraçuSupervision from age 5Younger children need their own arrangement with a guardian; the Carnival package runs Feb 7–10
Itamambuca, UbatubaSupervisors from age 6; program subject to minimum occupancyCheck holiday operation and water activity rules
Águas de Palmas, Governador Celso RamosKids’ club by age group; minimum age not numbered on the pages consultedRequest in writing the age range and supervision for your child’s age

General rules: Itamambuca, supervision from age 6 and Recanto Alvorada, general description of groups. Group divisions may vary by package: ask the hotel for the Carnival schedule. Information from the leisure and kids’ club pages of the four establishments, consulted on October 17, 2026; Itamambuca and Recanto links reviewed on October 18, 2026. Also ask whether there’s registration, a participant limit, meal breaks and who picks up the child at the end of the shift. A room courtesy doesn’t automatically grant access to all activities; bed, meals and supervision are separate rules.

Which hotels have availability and how much do they cost for the family?

The simulation below is for 2 adults and 1 child aged 6, February 5–10, 2027. Prices are totals for five nights, consulted on Booking on October 17, 2026, with displayed taxes included. Changing the age, adding a child or choosing another room may change the price and availability.

Hotel and profileFamily total, 5 nightsMeals and cancellationCompare
Golden Tower Pinheiros, São Paulo: urban base, no supervision promisedR$ 2,241 (Oct 2026)Breakfast included; cancellation before Feb 4, 2027; room with 1 queen bed in the option consultedSee room and occupancy
Águas de Palmas: beach, pools and kids’ club; confirm the age rangeR$ 9,150 (Oct 2026)Breakfast, lunch and dinner; the rate consulted allowed cancellation only until Oct 25, 2026See conditions on Booking
Itamambuca: beach and supervision from age 6R$ 9,537 (Oct 2026)Breakfast included; cancellation before Jan 22, 2027; lunch and dinner not included in this totalSee room on Booking

Golden Tower Pinheiros had a rating of 8.1 in the previous check; Águas de Palmas showed 9.1 and Itamambuca 8.3 in the October 17 check. Don’t choose the room based only on the stated capacity: the urban option showed one queen bed for the group, and you should confirm whether that configuration suits the family or if you need an extra bed.

Recanto Alvorada and Ody Park were not available on Booking for the composition and five nights researched on October 17, 2026. That doesn’t mean the hotel is sold out across all channels or dates. Ody advertises a package from February 7–10, three nights, which isn’t directly comparable to the five-night window. To compare other resorts with meals included, see the guide to resorts and farm hotels for Carnival.

How much to budget for hotel, festivities and local transport?

The three scenarios below are partial calculations for the group of three: lodging, free leisure and a local transport reserve where indicated. Airfare, travel to the destination, meals not included in the hotel, drinks and shopping are outside the total. Dividing by three is only for comparing the budget, not an individual nightly rate.

How to plan Carnival with a rest day?

Set aside one shift for the festivities and leave the other free for meals, baths and sleep. An itinerary with rest lets you leave a bloco early without feeling the trip was wasted. Use the days below as family organization, not as a confirmed events schedule.

DayFamily plan
Friday, Feb 5Arrival, grocery store and getting to know the route; no paid tour with a tight schedule
Saturday, Feb 6One bloco or kids’ hub, if the 2027 edition is confirmed; free afternoon
Sunday, Feb 7Beach, park or short activity; leave before the biggest crowds
Monday, Feb 8Rest at the hotel; don’t add another city to the itinerary
Tuesday, Feb 9Repeat what worked or a kids’ club activity
Wednesday, Feb 10Check-out and return, with time for traffic and a meal

In Ubatuba, check duration, minimum age and sea conditions before including a boat trip. A full-day tour can eat up the rest time the family needs. Compare Ubatuba activities only after deciding which days you’ll stay at the resort; don’t book a morning outing after a long night.

How to get there and back without crossing the crowd?

Shorten the final stretch whenever possible and plan the return before entering the bloco. A car helps in Brotas and remote resorts, but can be a problem inside a circuit with roadblocks. In a big city, staying near a station and services usually gives more flexibility than depending on a rideshare for every outing.

Plan the family’s route

  • Flight: Compare times that leave margin for the final leg. Include ages in the search and check baggage and stroller; consult the airline’s rules for traveling with a baby and stroller.
  • Transfer: Book the service considering all passengers and the need for a car seat; confirm the equipment with the provider.
  • Car: Check parking and the route to the lodging; a garage inside the roadblock area may be inaccessible at arrival time.
  • Return: Choose a meeting point outside the parade and keep the hotel address and guardian’s contact on your phone and on paper.

Bathrooms, ID and exits: what to agree on beforehand?

Locate the bathroom and a clear exit before following the procession, and agree on a meeting point in case the group separates. Keep your child identified with a guardian’s contact, without relying only on an adult’s phone. These measures appear in the Belo Horizonte Guarda’s guidance for the 2026 kids’ Carnival.

Bring water, a change of clothes and the items your child uses in their routine, respecting the venue’s rules. Leave when tiredness shows; a very crowded space, without shade or with loud sound nearby may stop working for the family even at a kids’ event. For specific baby care and health conditions, follow the guidance of the professional who follows your child.

In Olinda, steep streets, cobblestones and narrow passages can make strollers difficult. Prefer a kids’ hub with easy access over trying to follow a procession’s entire route; in Recife, don’t treat the Galo crowd as equivalent to a kids’ program. In every city, check where the 2027 edition’s services are located and avoid stretching the outing until dispersal.

Frequently asked questions

Which city is best for spending Carnival with kids?

The one that lets you combine a short kids’ program with a hotel off the route. Rio, São Paulo, Recife, Olinda and BH have family programming references, but the 2027 kids’ lineup needs to be confirmed before the trip.

Which hotels have kids’ clubs from age 5 or 6?

Ody Park states supervision from age 5; Itamambuca, from age 6. Recanto Alvorada separates activities for 0–3 and 4–12. Águas de Palmas should confirm the age range directly; activities for little ones don’t mean staying without a guardian.

How much does a hotel cost at Carnival for two adults and one child?

In the October 17, 2026 simulation for a 6-year-old and five nights, February 5–10, 2027, the Booking totals were R$ 2,241 (Oct 2026) at Golden Tower Pinheiros, R$ 9,150 (Oct 2026) at Águas de Palmas and R$ 9,537 (Oct 2026) at Itamambuca, with displayed taxes included. Meals, rooms and cancellation policies differ.

Does the Olinda Kids’ Hub already have 2027 hours?

The official reference consulted is from 2026: the Sítio de Seu Reis hub ran from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Those hours don’t confirm 2027 operation.

Does a family hotel guarantee a quiet night?

No. Check the parade street, the room’s location and parties or music at the hotel. Choosing the neighborhood without checking the exact address can put the family face to face with the bloco.

Which booking should you make first?

Start with your kids’ ages and the pace your family can keep. If the priority is the bloco, choose the program first and only then a street off the route. If the priority is the kids’ club, confirm the age range, meals and room occupancy before paying. Keep one day unplanned and compare cancellation deadlines, especially on rates expiring as early as October.
