When and where is Universo Paralello 2026/27?
The 19th edition of Universo Paralello opens its gates on December 27, 2026, at 4 pm, and ends on January 4, 2027, at 4 pm, according to the festival’s official site. That’s eight straight days of music, and the transition from December 31, 2026 to January 1, 2027 happens right in the middle of the program, inside the festival.
The official address is Praia do Pratigi, in the rural area of Ituberá, on the southern coast of Bahia (zip code 45435-000). The region is the Costa do Dendê, between Valença to the north and the Maraú Peninsula and Itacaré to the south. Pratigi is 28 km from the town of Ituberá; the festival occupies a coconut farm facing the sea, with a 4 km perimeter and 500,000 m² of area.
Universo Paralello was born in 1997 as a New Year’s party among friends, had its first edition as a festival in 2000 in Chapada dos Veadeiros, and arrived at Pratigi in 2003. Since 2012 it has been back on the same beach, permanently. The edition usually happens every two years, always around New Year’s.
Is there a free New Year’s Eve at Universo Paralello?
There’s no free version of Universo Paralello: the New Year’s celebration happens inside the festival grounds, ticket only. The exception is children: under 12 get in free, as long as they’re accompanied by a legal guardian.
Anyone looking for a free New Year’s celebration in the region needs to check the neighboring towns. Itacaré, 108 km down the road, and Ituberá haven’t announced a public fireworks party for 2027 yet. Inside the festival, the countdown doesn’t have a separate stage: midnight is celebrated on the seaside dance floors, with the Main Floor as the biggest gathering point. The rules make one exception to the alcohol ban for the occasion: each person can bring in one bottle of sparkling wine for the countdown.
Universo Paralello 2027 tickets: price, types and where to buy
The Universo Paralello 2027 ticket is a single one for all eight days, with standard camping included, and it’s only valid when purchased through official channels: Ingresse and accredited agents.
Through Ingresse, payment can be split into up to 12 installments on credit card; with official agents, the ticket is paid upfront. On sale 2027 The ticket is digital and named, and the holder is entitled to one name transfer through the app.
There are two discounted options, validated at the gate: the solidarity ticket, with a donation of 1 kg of non-perishable food, and the student ticket, with a student ID. On October 9, 2026, the event page on Ingresse showed only the resale ticket button, without the batch grid.
The clearest price published today is the BR Oriente package, the transfer operator recommended by the festival: R$ 3,200 per person on credit card, or R$ 2,900 by deposit, with the solidarity ticket and round-trip transfer between Salvador and Pratigi (BR Oriente, Oct 2026).

The 19th edition lineup hasn’t been published on the official site yet; the festival speaks of more than 1,000 artists and more than 200 hours of music nonstop, spread across seven stages, five of them by the sea.

Beyond the dance floors, Circulou brings together urban art, healing circles, cinema, a circus ring, a gallery and a community kitchen with a wood-fired stove. The food court runs nonstop from Dec 27 to Jan 4, with Bahian cuisine, vegan options and payment only via the cashless wristband (official site).
How to get to Universo Paralello and back from Pratigi
The easiest way to get there is to fly into Salvador (SSA) or Ilhéus (IOS) and take a transfer. From Salvador it’s about 290 km by road, and the festival warns that the trip can take 3 or 4 hours — up to 10 hours on the busiest days (official site). Download offline maps: GPS fails in the region.
Stress-free arrival in Pratigi
- Flight: the nearest airports are Salvador and Ilhéus; compare Dec 26 dates on FlipMilhas for Salvador or FlipMilhas for Ilhéus, with cash or miles.
- Transfer: BR Oriente, recommended by the festival, charges R$ 600 per person for the round trip from Salvador (R$ 360 one way, Oct 2026). For a private car from the airport to Itacaré or Ituberá, compare on Kiwitaxi.
- Car: via BR-101 to Travessão, Camamu and Ituberá; Dendê Vip Parking sells spots near the entrance. Compare rental companies on Rentcars.
- Insurance (optional): covers baggage and flight delays; check Seguros Promo.
By road, route measurements (OpenStreetMap) give about 28 km from Ituberá to Pratigi, 53 km from Camamu, 108 km from Itacaré and 174 km from Ilhéus airport. The final stretch, from the Pratigi roundabout to the gate, is done by accredited buggy from the Associação de Bugueiros de Pratigi, an independent service with its own fare.
The festival issues a direct warning: avoid the dirt road before Ituberá, via Gandu and Piraí do Norte — it’s full of potholes and there are reports of robberies. Those coming by car from Rio or São Paulo take BR-101 or BR-116 to Vitória da Conquista and then BR-101.
How to get back after midnight?
At Universo Paralello, getting back after midnight is a short walk: campers sleep just minutes from the dance floors, and Vila Mundo guests are also inside the festival. There are no late-night transfers to the towns on New Year’s Eve, and it wouldn’t make sense anyway: the party continues on January 1st.
The real departure is at the end of the festival, on January 4, when thousands of people leave Pratigi at the same time. Book your return transfer in advance, get to the buggy stop early and avoid driving tired after eight days of partying: the stretch to BR-101 has curves and heavy traffic that day.
How much does it cost to go to Universo Paralello 2026/27?
For a couple flying into Salvador, using the solidarity ticket package with transfer and extending three nights in Itacaré, Universo Paralello starts at R$ 9,143 without flights (BR Oriente and Booking, Oct 2026). Inside the festival, food is paid with the cashless wristband.

What to bring to Universo Paralello and what nobody tells you
The festival is long, hot and remote; those who prepare for the marathon get much more out of it. The rules below come from the Info Point on the official site.
- Alcohol isn’t allowed in, with one exception: one bottle of sparkling wine for the countdown. Food for personal consumption is allowed; water, in sealed, transparent bottles.
- No ATMs: there’s no cash machine and the signal is spotty: top up your cashless wristband beforehand and bring cash for emergencies.
- Weak cell signal: in some spots only Vivo works. There’s paid Wi-Fi and charging; bring a power bank and a spare cable.
- Download the QR Code of your ticket in advance: at the gate, the signal won’t help. A digital photo ID is accepted.
- Arrive early: the line is long, shade is scarce and many people arrive in the early hours of the 27th to secure a camping spot.
- Wheeled suitcases don’t work on sand; go for a backpack, two pairs of flip-flops, a flashlight and dark clothes (the mangrove mud stains).
Weather and plan B for rain and heat in Pratigi
December and January are summer on the southern coast of Bahia: lots of sun, warm sea and muggy nights. The festival warns that the sun comes up around 5 am and that inside the tents the temperature can reach 45°C, so shade and hydration are worth more than any other item in your bag.
Summer rain showers also happen; bring a light rain jacket, a tarp to cover your tent and plastic bags for electronics. January 1st at Universo Paralello and the following days in Itacaré
On January 1, 2027, a Friday, the festival carries on as usual: the dance floors keep going until January 4, and the food court runs without pause. It’s the calmest day to swim in the sea at Pratigi, rest at the campsite and visit the Circulou spaces, which are less crowded after the countdown.
Those who want to extend the trip have Itacaré as the most practical base, about 108 km from Pratigi and on the return route to Ilhéus. The village has surf beaches, trails and waterfalls, and the tours below are perfect for January 5, 6 and 7.
The four tours depart from Itacaré and match the pace of someone who spent eight days on the dance floor: beaches, river and a cacao farm.

Universo Paralello with kids and accessibility
The festival is rated for all ages, but under-18s can only enter with a legal guardian, who must stay on site, sign a liability form and wear a special wristband with the minor that prevents alcohol purchases. Under-12s get in free (official site).
For kids, Circulinho, inside Circulou, has activities for ages 4 to 12, with theater, circus, music and beach. Think carefully before bringing a small child: the sound is nonstop day and night, the heat in the tents is intense and the campsite has no lighting; for families, Vila Mundo, with hot showers and 24h security, or an inn in Itacaré for the following days makes the trip easier.
On accessibility, the festival publishes an information guide for people with disabilities, with guidance on access, infrastructure, companions and special care. The terrain is sand and grass, distances are long (4 km perimeter) and the final access is by buggy: those with reduced mobility should read the guide and contact the production team before buying.
Where to stay at Universo Paralello 2026/27: camping, Vila Mundo or Itacaré?
To fully live the festival, the best place to stay is inside it: standard camping comes included with the ticket, and Vila Mundo is the official accommodation with hotel-level structure. Outside the festival, Ituberá has limited options: in the Booking search for Dec 25–27, made on October 9, 2026, only three vacation rentals showed up.
That’s why the base for before or after is Itacaré, with plenty of well-rated pousadas and right on the route back to Ilhéus. The hotels below were checked on Booking; go for the free-cancellation rate, because January is high season in the village.
