It’s a bubble: you buy the package, most nights are already included, and you don’t need to buy tickets for anything else (except restaurants). For those coming from out of town who want to make the most of Trancoso with the fewest decisions, it’s the most convenient option. The downside: high price and impossible to cancel close to the date. Previous editions featured international house DJs and Brazilian pop acts — 2027 programming not yet released; it drops between October and November 2026.

How to get back after midnight on New Year’s Eve in Trancoso?

This is the question a lot of people forget to ask. If you’re staying in Trancoso, it’s simple: walk back to your pousada along the sand or through the streets. The problem is for those going back and forth from Porto Seguro the same day — which we don’t recommend for the countdown.

• There’s no nighttime public transport between Trancoso and Porto Seguro in the early hours of January 1. No regular bus line runs at that hour.
• Private transfers need to be booked weeks in advance — in the early hours, they charge overtime rates or a New Year’s surcharge (R$ 300–600 per vehicle; ref. 2026).
• The real solution: stay inside Trancoso — even if it’s a hostel or shared room — so you don’t depend on transport in the early hours.
• Ride-hailing apps like 99 and Uber have very limited coverage in the area. Don’t count on them for the countdown.

January 1 is the best day in Trancoso for anyone who’s slept. The streets are quieter in the morning, the sea is calm, and restaurants open for lunch from 12pm. The main event of the day is the so-called Ressaca — an after-party that takes place in the afternoon/evening of January 2 in an open space, with ambient music and a laid-back vibe. It’s less intense than the countdown parties but popular among those who stayed in the village.

Essential businesses run normally on January 1 in Trancoso: small grocery stores, pousadas, and most Quadrado restaurants. Pharmacies and emergency services: covered by the municipality of Porto Seguro. Large supermarket: Porto Seguro (60 km).

Trancoso is expensive year-round — at the countdown, prices double or triple. But there are specific traps that catch those who don’t know the destination:
