New Year’s Eve in Balneário Camboriú 2027 (the night of December 31, 2026 into January 1, 2027) has free fireworks on Praia Central and two paid parties on sale. The bottleneck is the hotel: book with free cancellation before you pick the party.
Hotels are running out: on 10/26/2026, 7 of the 10 hotels we track in Balneário Camboriú were already sold out or requiring a minimum stay for the holiday (Booking, 12/31–01/02, 2 adults).

1. Free fireworks on Praia Central On the official calendar
The waterfront of Centro and Avenida Atlântica puts the fireworks within walking distance. Avenida Atlântica closes around midnight: agree on a meeting point outside the closed stretch.

Free fireworks on Praia Central: time and where to watch
The Praia Central fireworks are public and free, with no ticket and no official VIP area. For 2027, the city’s official calendar (filed on 09/17/2026) lists the show on 12/31/2026, from 11:59 pm to 12:15 am, with no attractions or barges detailed (checked on 10/22/2026); attractions and stages had not been announced as of 10/23/2026. Last New Year’s Eve, 2025/26, it ran about 15 minutes, launched from 8 barges, with the countdown projected on the Ferris wheel (NSC Total, Dec/2025). The 2027 duration has not been announced.
Where to watch: Barra Sul gives the best angle with the Ferris wheel in the frame, but it fills up early; Molhe da Barra Norte has a wide view of the barges and a smaller crowd, a good escape for those with kids; the middle of Avenida Atlântica is the heart of the crowd (around 1 million people at recent New Year’s Eves) and the slowest exit. Get to your chosen spot before 10:30 pm.

Which to choose: Carpe Vita to ring in the new year on the waterfront, with access to the sand and a walkable way back; Cristo Luz for a family dinner at the top of the hill (it has a kids’ price), going by car or rideshare. Buy only through official channels (Sympla, Bileto and the Cristo Luz website); check out the most common scams. Green Valley is in Camboriú, not in Balneário Camboriú.
How to get back after midnight
On the waterfront, the safest route is on foot: from Barra Sul to Centro it’s 30 to 40 minutes along Avenida Atlântica. Taxis and rideshares have surge pricing between 10 pm and 3 am. Last New Year’s Eve, 2025/26, the traffic plan was only announced on 12/29/2025, with Avenida Atlântica closed from 8:30 pm to 4 am; the 2027 plan hasn’t come out. Anyone heading to Cristo Luz depends on a car or rideshare on the way back: agree on a designated driver. To get there, compare flights to Navegantes (25 km) or Florianópolis (90 km); the private transfer from Navegantes starts at R$ 327 per car (Civitatis, 09/25/2026).

Before you go: peak summer runs 28 to 32 °C with quick late-afternoon showers. With kids, the public fireworks have no age limit, Carpe Vita only admits minors with their parents, and Cristo Luz has a kids’ ticket (ages 6 to 10). For reduced mobility, the 2027 accessibility map hasn’t come out: the boardwalk is relatively flat, but the crowd makes it hard; arrive before 10 pm, pick an edge (Barra Sul or Molhe) and ask the ticket booths about ramps and a reserved area. January 1 is a holiday: save the sightseeing for the 2nd, like the Unipraias cable car with pirate boat (from R$ 266, Civitatis, 09/25/2026), and confirm it’s operating.
