Pedra Furada is the postcard landmark of Jericoacoara, sitting right on the coast just a walk from the village when the tide is low. The arch looks its best from certain angles, but the route involves rocks and soft sand.

How to get to Pedra Furada

From the village, walk via Malhada Beach when the tide allows, or use the Serrote trails. The 2026 ICMBio visitor protocol advises avoiding high tide on the Malhada trail and prohibits motor vehicles on Serrote and its trails. A buggy may cover part of the journey on authorized roads, but it does not remove the final walk to Pedra Furada. Confirm the drop-off and return arrangements with your driver; bring sturdy footwear, water and sun protection.

What’s the best time to go?
