What is the MSC Divina New Year’s itinerary?

The organizer reports that the itinerary stops at Angra dos Reis and Búzios and anchors off Copacabana on New Year’s Eve. The FAQ warns that the itinerary will be defined close to the date, because the shows are on the pool decks and depend on the weather.

DateLegWhat we know
Tue 12/29Embarkation in SantosFrom 12 pm to 4 pm
12/30 to 01/01Angra dos Reis and BúziosDates of each stop not officially announced
Thu 12/31Copacabana (countdown)Ship anchors, according to the organizers
Sat 01/02Disembarkation in SantosFrom 8 am

In Angra dos Reis, the classic excursion is snorkeling around the bay’s islands and beaches. In Búzios, Rua das Pedras and the waterfront are worth it. Book excursions only after you know the stop date, and keep in mind that disembarkation may depend on the sea.

Can you see the Copacabana fireworks from the ship?

For the countdown from December 31, 2026 to January 1, 2027, the organizers announce the ship off Copacabana with Christ the Redeemer in the background. Since the final itinerary only comes out close to the trip, no one guarantees distance from the beach, angle or visibility. The site also doesn’t announce going ashore on the beach: treat the night as viewing from on board.

The times for the gala dinner and the countdown haven’t been announced yet. Watch for crew announcements to know which areas of the ship will be open at midnight.

What are the cabins like and which one should you choose?

The official site sells interior, superior interior, ocean view, balcony, superior balcony, plus the Experience and Yacht Club categories. No official source guarantees that one side of the ship will face Copacabana, so choose based on comfort and what’s included.

How do you get to the Port of Santos and when do you board?

Embarkation is at the Port of Santos on 12/29, from 12 pm to 4 pm. The terminal and check-in details are on your voucher. Arrive in the city with time to spare: the mountain descent often has traffic on year-end holidays.

By car: from São Paulo, access is usually via Anchieta or Imigrantes. Reserve parking in advance. By bus: there are lines from São Paulo to Santos, and the final stretch can be by taxi or rideshare. By transfer: ask PromoAção or your cabin seller.

Tip: if you arrive the day before, you can enjoy the morning of 12/29 in Santos. The Santos tour for cruise passengers, by Civitatis, covers the historic center, Monte Serrat and the waterfront before check-in.

Which documents and age rules apply for boarding?

The official FAQ requires an original photo ID, such as RG, CNH or RNE, valid and in good condition. Children under 12 can also board with a birth certificate. The minimum age to buy and consume alcohol on board is 21.

SituationOfficial rule
AdultOriginal photo RG, CNH or RNE
Minor under 18 without parentsAuthorization in 2 copies, notarized
Child under 12May use a birth certificate
Minimum passenger age6 months
Alcoholic drinks21 years old
Pregnant travelersUp to 23 weeks, with original medical certificate
Tip: even on a domestic cruise, care at the ship’s medical center is charged. Compare travel insurance for the cruise before booking your cabin.

What to bring and what’s prohibited on board?

Bring light, beach-friendly clothing for Angra and Búzios, something a bit dressier for New Year’s Eve, sunscreen, your regular medications and your original ID. Don’t bring copies.

The cruise line’s prohibited items list includes alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, weapons, knives, scissors, pocket knives, pepper spray, sharp objects, irons, hair dryers, flat irons and explosive or flammable items. If something is found at the X-ray, the passenger is called to discard it.

Is the cruise good for families with kids?

Children can board from 6 months old, and minors under 18 pay promotional rates in lower categories when they’re the 3rd and 4th guest. But the itinerary is a festival: the shows on the decks run into the early hours, with high volume.

For little ones, an interior cabin can help them sleep early. Teens usually love the energy of the shows. Remember the notarized authorization when the child isn’t traveling with their parents or guardians.

What’s it like after the party and on January 1st?

After the countdown, the cabin, restaurants and common areas stay on the same ship: there’s no going home in the middle of the night. On 01/01, the itinerary includes a stop, but the date of each port will only be defined close to the trip.

If you plan to go ashore, leave your ID, sunscreen and a small bag ready the night before. If you’d rather sleep, treat the stop as optional: schedules and tender boat transport can cut into your time on land.

How does accessibility work on board?

MSC Divina has accessible cabins, but there are few and they must be requested before booking. Call PromoAção at (11) 3624-9007 and ask for written confirmation about assistance at embarkation and at the shows.

At the stops, disembarkation may use tender boats and depends on the sea. A ship that’s accessible inside doesn’t guarantee accessible disembarkation in Angra dos Reis and Búzios.

What’s the weather like on the itinerary?

The coast between Santos, Angra, Rio and Búzios is in summer: heat, humidity and brief heavy rain. Bring a compact rain jacket, grippy shoes and a light layer for air-conditioned areas. Wind and rain can change the ship’s position and outdoor activities.

What nobody tells you about the cruise-festival?

Is it worth it versus spending New Year’s in Copacabana?

The cruise delivers lodging, 7 shows and the countdown at sea in a single package, but you accept that the itinerary and the view depend on the operation. In Copacabana, on the sand, the party is public, but you handle lodging, transport and getting home on your own. See the guide to New Year’s in Rio de Janeiro.

Worth it for: anyone who wants a festival and a hotel in the same place, with family or friends. Not worth it for: anyone who demands a guaranteed view of the fireworks or prefers the party on the sand.

Where to stay in Santos before boarding?

Sleeping in Santos the night before avoids the mountain descent on embarkation day. Gonzaga and Boqueirão have shops and urban access; check the distance to the terminal on your voucher. Gonzaga is the most sought-after area to stay, with a beach, restaurants and easy access by car or rideshare. Boqueirão is just a few minutes away and has a variety of lodging options.

At year-end, book in advance, because Santos fills up with cruise passengers and beach-season visitors. Choose a hotel with an early breakfast and flexible cancellation: ship check-in starts at noon. For the step-by-step, read the guide to the Port of Santos for cruises.

Which other cruises cover New Year’s or leave from the same port?

Only the MSC Seaview departure on 12/27 covers the night of 12/31 on board among those checked on Logitravel on 10/07/2026. MSC Divina departures are alternatives for other dates. What the ship, the cabins and the 3- and 4-night itineraries outside the festival are like is in the MSC Divina 2026/27 season guide.

For more options, see the selection of Christmas and New Year’s cruises or the domestic cruises. Also read the guide to New Year’s on a cruise, the one on New Year’s at sea departing from Santos and the one on New Year’s cruises departing from Rio.

Conclusion

Réveillon em Alto Mar 2027 is for anyone who wants 7 shows, 4 nights and the countdown at sea in one package, accepting that the itinerary depends on the weather. Add the port/service fee to the cabin, decide early, with 70% sold, and don’t count on a guaranteed cabin side or view.

If the date or price doesn’t work for you, MSC Divina’s 4-night departures on other dates are a way to get to know the ship before deciding.

The same ship also hosts shows in December: see the Navio Roberto Carlos (12/6 to 12/9) and the Embaixador em Alto Mar, with Gusttavo Lima (12/9 to 12/12). The season’s 15 themed departures are in the 2026/2027 themed cruise calendar.
