There are ticket counters there: you can buy just the outbound ticket and pay the boatman for the return, or buy both tickets at once. When you board, just tell the driver which restaurant or pier you want to get off at. The boat usually leaves with 4 or 5 people, so if you’re traveling alone or as a couple you may wait a bit, especially on weekdays.
If you’re driving, the square has parking for R$ 10 (flat rate, Nov 2026) and a Municipal Guard post, according to the crossing page. Without a car, the same page lists buses 113, 114, 307, 308, 309, 315 and 442 to Condor.

It depends on the source. The crossing page says boardings from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; O Liberal, on 09/13/2025, said 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Plan around the more restrictive one and leave some buffer for the return.

For lunch with chocolate and a short stroll, plan on half a day, 3 to 4 hours including the crossings. What to do on Ilha do Combu: chocolate and riverside restaurants?
The classic itinerary pairs chocolate with river food. Ilha do Combu has been an Environmental Protection Area since 1997, and native cacao is the local trademark; the Filha do Combu chocolate, created by Izete Costa, known as Dona Nena, is the most famous (Diário do Pará, 08/19/2025). There are also trails, creek swims and the open-air Street River gallery (Diário do Pará, 06/07/2025).
Among the restaurants, Saldosa Maloca is mentioned by Correio Braziliense (Oct 2024) for a tasting menu with fish, shrimp and native açaí. That year, an itinerary with a visit to the açaí area, a harvest demonstration and a tasting menu at Saldosa Maloca, departing from the Estância Nazaré pier, cost R$ 390 per person; treat that as a 2024 reference, not a current price (article). Each restaurant has its own pier, so it’s worth deciding where to get off before you board.
How to get back without waiting around?
Wait at the pier where you are and board the boat that pulls in to drop off other passengers, letting them know you’re heading to Belém. Only boats registered at the terminal accept the return ticket; on an independent boat, you pay the driver directly for the return. Lost your ticket? You’ll pay again, according to the crossing page.
Is a tour worth it, or should you go on your own?
