When is Carnatal 2026 and how does it work
Carnatal 2026 has three nights of partying, from Friday, December 4, to Sunday, December 6, and it’s the 35th edition of the festival. The trio elétricos roll down the Corredor da Folia, set up at the Arena das Dunas complex in Lagoa Nova, and each night’s program starts at 6 p.m., according to the official box office.
Carnatal runs on the same model as Salvador’s trio blocos, but on a closed circuit. You buy a bloco abadá for one night, exchange the voucher for the shirt before the party and follow the trio inside the rope. If you’d rather stay put, you buy the Camarote Skol, with open bar, air-conditioned lounges, exclusive restrooms and an indoor stage between blocos. The official description also mentions bleachers, but as of October 14, 2026 there was no price or access rule for them, and the organizers haven’t announced a free area.
| Night | Blocos in the Corredor da Folia | Camarote Skol |
|---|---|---|
| Friday, Dec 4 | Bloco da Anitta · Vumbora (Bell Marques, with a 3rd round from Rafa and Pipo Marques) · 084 (Banda Grafith) | Wesley Safadão, Rey Vaqueiro and Banda Eva |
| Saturday, Dec 5 | Vem com o Gigante (Léo Santana) · Vumbora (Bell Marques) · Largadinho (Claudia Leitte) | Pedro Sampaio, Henry Freitas and Durval Lelys |
| Sunday, Dec 6 | 084 (Banda Grafith) · Vumbora (Bell Marques) · Euforia (Ivete Sangalo) | Natanzinho Lima, Mari Fernandez and Rafa e Pipo Marques |
Bell Marques is the only one leading a bloco all three nights, with Vumbora; Banda Grafith, from Natal, is the hometown favorite and plays Friday and Sunday. The lineup matches the organizer’s announcement from August 28, 2026. The order the trios set off and each bloco’s start time haven’t been released: they usually come out the week of the event (we’ll check again on November 25, 2026).
Carnatal 2026 abadás: prices by batch and where to buy
Carnatal 2026 abadás cost from R$ 160 to R$ 1,080 per night as of October 14, 2026, half-price to full price, plus the box office fee of about 18.5% on top. Half-price, social ticket (with a donation of 2 kg of food when exchanging the abadá) and the Alares partner discount all pay the same price, which is half the full price.
In Voyage Voyage’s October 2026 survey, the cheapest bloco was 084, by Banda Grafith (R$ 160 on Friday, half-price or social, 1st batch from Oct 2026), and the priciest were the three female headliners — Anitta, Claudia Leitte and Ivete Sangalo — already in the 2nd batch at R$ 540 half-price and R$ 1,080 full price.
| Bloco | Night | Half-price or social | Full price | Batch |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 084 (Grafith) | Friday | R$ 160 | R$ 320 | 1st batch, Oct 2026 |
| 084 (Grafith) | Sunday | R$ 180 | R$ 360 | 1st batch, Oct 2026 |
| Vumbora (Bell Marques) | Sunday | R$ 300 | R$ 600 | 1st batch, Oct 2026 |
| Vem com o Gigante (Léo Santana) | Saturday | R$ 320 | R$ 640 | 1st batch, Oct 2026 |
| Vumbora (Bell Marques) | Friday | R$ 400 | R$ 800 | 1st batch, Oct 2026 |
| Vumbora (Bell Marques) | Saturday | R$ 420 | R$ 840 | 1st batch, Oct 2026 |
| Bloco da Anitta | Friday | R$ 540 | R$ 1,080 | 2nd batch, Oct 2026 |
| Largadinho (Claudia Leitte) | Saturday | R$ 540 | R$ 1,080 | 2nd batch, Oct 2026 |
| Euforia (Ivete Sangalo) | Sunday | R$ 540 | R$ 1,080 | 2nd batch, Oct 2026 |
| Camarote Skol | Friday or Saturday | R$ 580 | R$ 1,160 | 1st batch, Oct 2026 |
| Camarote Skol | Sunday | R$ 380 | R$ 760 | 1st batch, Oct 2026 |
Multi-night combos come out cheaper than buying night by night. The prices below are for the 1st batch of combos, half-price or social, as of October 14, 2026; full price is double.
- Bell Marques on Friday, Saturday and Sunday
- R$ 112 less than the three single nights
- Anitta, Largadinho and Euforia
- R$ 210 less than the three single nights, already in the 2nd batch (R$ 540 each, Oct 2026)
- Open bar and indoor stage, facial recognition entry
- R$ 246 less than the three single nights
- Banda Grafith both nights
- The cheapest way to do two nights of bloco
Should I book now or wait? Now. Abadá prices only go up: each batch that sells out is replaced by a pricier one, and the female headliners’ blocos already moved to a new batch in October. Waiting for a discount close to the date risks leaving you with resale only, with no guarantee.
How to avoid a scam: buy only through Evenyx, the official box office, or at Central do Carnatal, at Natal Shopping, open Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sundays and holidays from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. (Oct 2026). The ticket becomes non-transferable after first use and the Camarote Skol uses facial recognition entry, so an abadá “passed on” through a social media profile may not get through the turnstile. Don’t send a Pix transfer to an individual. The location and dates for exchanging the voucher for the abadá hadn’t been announced as of October 14, 2026.
Where to stay for Carnatal: Ponta Negra, Via Costeira or near the Arena
For Carnatal, Ponta Negra is the best base if you want beach by day and party by night: it’s about 10 km from Arena das Dunas, roughly 20 minutes by car without traffic, and has the largest selection of hotels in Natal. If you want to walk home, stay in the neighborhoods around the Arena (Lagoa Nova and Tirol), and the Via Costeira, halfway there, is the strip of oceanfront resorts.
Is there a minimum stay? In our Booking search on October 14, 2026, for December 4–7 (3 nights, couple), there were rooms without a mandatory package in every neighborhood below — unlike February Carnival, when many hotels in the Northeast require 4 to 5 nights. December is already high season in Natal and demand climbs near New Year’s: book with free cancellation and check the stay rule before paying.
| Neighborhood | To the Arena | Hotel, 3 nights (couple) | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ponta Negra | about 10 km | R$ 791 to R$ 2,158 (Oct 2026) | beach by day, party by night |
| Via Costeira | 5 to 8 km | R$ 1,814 to R$ 2,868 (Oct 2026) | resort and pool between nights |
| Lagoa Nova and Tirol | walking distance or a short ride | from R$ 1,728 (1 hotel in Tirol, Oct 2026) | walking home in the early hours |
Ponta Negra: the most popular base
Ponta Negra has a beachfront promenade, restaurants open late and Morro do Careca at the end of the beach. For the party, you’ll go and come back by rideshare or taxi: leave with time to spare, because traffic toward Lagoa Nova tends to be heavy in the late afternoon.

Via Costeira: a resort along the way
Via Costeira is the avenue between the dunes and the sea that links Ponta Negra to downtown. The hotels are large, with pools and beachfront, and they’re closer to the Arena than Ponta Negra; on the downside, there’s no shopping within walking distance.
Lagoa Nova and Tirol: near Arena das Dunas
Lagoa Nova is the neighborhood of Arena das Dunas, and Tirol is right next door. They’re residential areas with no beach, but this is where you can walk home or take a short ride when the trio ends. See hotels in Lagoa Nova for Dec 4–7.
How to get to Carnatal and how to get back in the early hours
To get to Natal, your flight lands at Natal International Airport (NAT) in São Gonçalo do Amarante, about 35 km from Ponta Negra. From the airport, take a rideshare, taxi or pre-booked transfer and allow 40 minutes to an hour to the waterfront. See flights from São Paulo to Natal for Dec 3–7 on FlipMilhas: arriving Thursday (Dec 3) gives you breathing room before the first night.

To reach Arena das Dunas, the simplest way is a rideshare, with drop-off on the streets around the complex; driving yourself is only worth it with paid parking already secured. The special traffic and bus plan from Natal City Hall is usually announced the week of the festival (we’ll check again on November 25, 2026).
What time does it end and how do I get back? The blocos start at 6 p.m. and the last trio of each night ends in the early hours; the organizers haven’t announced the closing time. On the way out, the area around the Arena jams up and rideshare apps switch to surge pricing, which can double or triple the fare. Walk a few blocks before calling your car and agree with your group on a meeting point away from the crowd.
Why Carnatal calls itself the country’s biggest micareta
Carnatal reaches its 35th edition in 2026 and bills itself as Brazil’s biggest off-season carnival. According to the organizers, attendance grew from 63,400 people in 2022 to 130,000 in 2025, and 44.5% of 2025 revelers came from outside Rio Grande do Norte.
Micareta is the off-season carnival that brings trios and axé blocos to another city on another date. In Natal, it falls at the start of the summer holidays, with sunshine and little rain: December is among the city’s driest months in the INMET climate normals.
