Public party and where to watch the fireworks
What’s announced for the public area
The street party is on the official Paris je t’aime calendar for 12/31/2026, between the Arc de Triomphe and Place de la Concorde. Access is free. The published plan indicates the avenue opens to the public at 7 pm, with the main entrance at Concorde and additional access points via Avenue Montaigne, Avenue Matignon and Avenue Franklin D. Roosevelt. These are entry points to the perimeter; they don’t mean the station of the same name will be open.
The page dedicated to the show announces mapping on the Arc at 11:50 pm, the countdown at 11:59 pm and fireworks at midnight, lasting about ten minutes, with the event ending at 12:20 am. Some sections of official pages are reused from the previous edition: double-check the city’s December program before treating those minutes as a definitive operational schedule. The announced venue for the show is the Arc de Triomphe; seeing the Eiffel Tower doesn’t mean watching those same fireworks.
The organizers list a ban on glass, alcohol, weapons, sharp objects, personal fireworks, bicycles, scooters and helmets; animals are not allowed and strollers are discouraged. If you’re traveling with children, consider the long time standing and the exit through the security perimeter. The event being open to the general public doesn’t solve those difficulties.

Vedettes du Pont Neuf offers a one-hour cruise on 12/31/2026 for €39 per adult and €29 per child, with a glass of champagne per adult. Departures run from 7:15 pm to 9:45 pm, so this product doesn’t stay on the river past midnight. Boarding and return are at Square du Vert-Galant, on Île de la Cité.
The Midnight Champagne Cruise departs at 11 pm, stops in front of the Eiffel Tower and returns around 12:45 am. It costs €69 per adult or €59 per child. It’s a choice for toasting on the Seine, with no promise of seeing the Arc de Triomphe show. The page describes an hour and a half of sailing; the return window should be reconfirmed at booking. The dinner with singer and DJ costs €450 per adult, with a window seat for an extra €30 per person, subject to availability. Boarding from 8:30 pm, departure at 9:30 pm and return around 12:30 am, at Port de Bercy Aval. It includes appetizers, a festive menu, a bottle of wine for two, water and coffee or tea. Getting there and back after midnight
The free rides and detailed metro closures that appear in New Year’s Eve guides are also from the 2025/26 edition. Don’t book a distant hotel assuming the same station will be running on the night of 2026/27. Check the updated RATP and Île-de-France Mobilités plan once the special service is published.
For the night at the Arc, map out a walking exit beyond the closures before choosing your station. For the boats, the dock decides your route: Pont Neuf and Port de Bercy are different boarding points. Write down your hotel address and agree on a meeting point that doesn’t require crossing the crowd. In the early hours, a rideshare may require walking to a cleared street; there’s no reliable flat fare to plug into your budget.

On 12/31/2025, the city government announced a free event on the Champs-Élysées, with access from 7 pm, mapping at 11:50 pm and fireworks at midnight. The statement is dated 12/23/2025. In that edition, there was free transport between 5 pm and noon, but nearby stations closed at different times. That operation is historical, not a guarantee for the next New Year’s Eve.
Families, accessibility and January 1st
For the weather, bring an extra layer and rain protection. Choose a covered alternative if the forecast threatens the outdoor night.
On January 1st, avoid linking a very early arrival to a timed attraction ticket after a night out on the street. Restaurants, museums and monuments have their own schedules: confirm each visit’s opening hours. For the outdoor night, winter clothing, shoes that handle hours of standing and rain protection help more than a distant booking chosen only for its nightly rate.
If you need step-free access, check the entire route, including the path between the perimeter and the alternative station. On a boat, ask about boarding, restrooms and movement on board before paying; a covered cabin doesn’t prove the dock is accessible.
