In Dubai, “seeing the fireworks” can mean standing for hours in a public area in Downtown, having dinner at your own hotel, heading up to a rooftop, boarding a cruise or spending the night in the desert. The most efficient choice combines four pieces: a view that’s actually promised, a ticket or reservation, lodging you can reach after midnight and a backup plan in case authorities change access or routes.

Fireworks and public party: what’s expected and what’s confirmed
No announcement As of 09/26/2026, Emaar, the Dubai Media Office and the RTA had not yet published the official 2027 New Year’s package — free areas, fireworks, times, closed roads and transport. The official site My Dubai New Year still shows the previous edition. That doesn’t mean it’s canceled: Emaar describes the Downtown party as an annual tradition since 2010.
Previous edition On New Year’s 2025/26, Downtown had free public areas, family-friendly and first come, first served, on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard, while Burj Park worked as a paid experience: AED 997.50 per adult and AED 577.50 for children aged 5 to 12; kids under 5 got in free with a reservation. A physical badge picked up before December 31, a no-reentry policy and food sold separately all added to the real cost. Those prices are just a reference, not the 2027 price.
If your plan is the free option, book a cancellable stay near Downtown and follow Emaar and Visit Dubai starting in late October. Last edition, the most important details came out between November and the last days of December.

What to ask before you pay
Ask for written confirmation with the product name, date, entry and exit times, currency, fees, drink category, minimum age, children’s policy, seating and cancellation rule. “Skyline view” is not the same as an outdoor table or an unobstructed view of the fireworks. At hotels, ask whether the gala is optional or mandatory for guests and whether the price is included in or added to the room rate.
For cruises and yachts, demand the exact pier, boarding time, deck purchased, route subject to authorities, capacity, operator license and refund rule if the sailing or fireworks change. The drop-off point and the ride back to the hotel matter as much as the view.

There’s no “best hotel in Dubai” without defining the party. On New Year’s night, location is worth more than a small difference in room rate: crossing the city after midnight can eat up your savings and still depend on closed roads. In the 09/26/2026 search, Atlantis, One&Only Royal Mirage and Jumeirah Beach Hotel no longer had rooms for sale on Booking for 12/30–01/02; in Downtown, Marina and JBR there was still good availability with ratings above 9.

Downtown is the choice for anyone who wants the Burj Khalifa fireworks and to walk back. Business Bay is right next door and usually a bit cheaper. Marina and JBR work for a cruise, the beach and waterfront parties. Deira and the Ibn Battuta area are the cheapest, but they depend on the special metro service — which hasn’t been announced yet.

How to get to Dubai from Brazil
Emirates operates direct flights from São Paulo (Guarulhos) and Rio de Janeiro (Galeão) to Dubai; from other cities, the trip has a connection, either in Brazil or in Europe. Arrive by the 30th: a delay on the eve can cost you a party you’ve already paid for. Dubai International Airport (DXB) sits next to Deira, about 15 km from Downtown; on 12/31, the Downtown roadblocks start in the afternoon, so anyone arriving that day should head straight to the hotel.
A stress-free arrival on New Year’s
- Flight: compare the direct option and connecting flights, in cash or miles, on FlipMilhas — airfare is the item that weighs most on your budget.
- Transfer: private transfer from Dubai airport on Civitatis, $34.15 per vehicle each way (09/26/2026); the price is per car, not per person.
- Insurance: the UAE doesn’t require insurance from Brazilians on entry, but private medical care is expensive and Brazil’s public health system covers nothing there — get a quote on Seguros Promo.
How to get there and back on New Year’s night without relying on luck
The special schedule for the metro, tram, buses and boats for 2027 hasn’t been published by the RTA yet (09/26/2026). In the 2025/26 edition, the metro ran from 5am on December 31 until 11:59pm on January 1, without stopping overnight, and public parking was free on January 1 — but that’s a historical reference. Stations may restrict access due to crowding, and repeating the previous plan would be a gamble.
Downtown had progressive road closures starting at 4pm last edition. According to the RTA, the 2025/26 New Year’s operation carried 2,836,859 passengers, 1,249,636 of them on the metro. In practice: arrive in the afternoon, load your Nol card before the 31st, install the official S’hail app and agree on a meeting point away from the crowd dispersal.
- Plan A: walk back to a hotel in the same area, along a confirmed route.
- Plan B: metro or tram, only after the RTA publishes the 2027 schedule.
- Plan C: transfer from the hotel or party, with a boarding point and delay tolerance in writing.
- Avoid: relying only on a taxi or ride-hailing app in Downtown, the Palm or Marina right after midnight.
Documents, insurance and weather
- Visa: Brazilians with an ordinary passport don’t need a visa for tourism up to 90 days.
- Passport: valid for at least six months from entry and with one blank page.
- Travel insurance: not required on entry, but recommended by the Brazilian Foreign Ministry, because medical costs in the country are high.
- Car: if you plan to drive, check the International Driving Permit and the rental company’s requirements — but a car won’t help you reach blocked areas on the night.

Weather: December is winter in Dubai. Data from the National Center of Meteorology points to average highs of 22 °C to 27 °C and lows of 13 °C to 17 °C. Light clothing works during the day, but bring a thin layer for the early hours and the air conditioning. At the party, the venue’s dress code applies.

Families, accessibility and rules that change your choice
For kids, the most predictable option is a party at the hotel with family-friendly facilities and a room at the same address. The Atlantis gala accepts children of all ages and has a kids’ rate; Jumeirah Beach Hotel advertises a kids’ club in the package; Caravan has categories for teens and children; Al Maha publishes a kids’ rate. Even so, confirm crib, seating, room access during the party, menu, noise and the option to leave early.
People with reduced mobility should ask for a step-free route from the room or drop-off to the table, an accessible restroom and what happens if vehicle access is closed. “Accessible” at the hotel doesn’t guarantee that the outdoor area, the pier or the public New Year’s route are accessible.
In Dubai, alcohol is only served in hotels, restaurants and licensed venues: don’t carry it or drink it on the street, the beach or in a public area. Bring your original ID when the event requires a minimum age, respect the dress code and don’t photograph people without permission.
Gotchas: surprise fees and fine print
- “Per person” price in dirhams: always compare in AED and convert only on the day you pay; a Brazilian card adds IOF tax and the day’s exchange rate.
- Mandatory dinner: Dubai hotels may impose a mandatory dinner, a minimum stay or a non-refundable rate during the period. Simulate the booking all the way to the last screen and don’t assume half board includes the night of the 31st.
- Cheap buffet far from the fireworks: the AED 99 one is great for your wallet, but it has no Downtown view and may require two rides on a night of gridlocked traffic.
- Burj Khalifa ticket: the observation deck ticket is for a regular activity and gives no access to Burj Park, the New Year’s areas or the fireworks.
- Page with no year: hotel party pages sometimes stay online from one season to the next. Only what says 12/31/2026 or comes confirmed by email counts.
Review your booking at three moments: late October, when season guides start appearing; late November, when organizers detail their offerings; and between December 26 and 30, when security and the RTA release the final operation.
